OK I have finished the very difficult and most challenging task so far in this adventure...picking seats for the 15 hour flight. Yes my brain is going to explode with all the possibilities. There are only 36 seats in The Evergreen Deluxe Section, but you would have thought I was deciding on where I wanted to live for the next 30 years.
My thoughts went from 'should I sit up close? sit further back?" "which seat has more legroom?" "should I do aisle or should I do window?" and the questions go on... So as most of you know, I have to make sure I have all my answers before I can make a final decision. I looked at EVA Air seating chart (three times..in case they change the seating one day?), I searched on SeatGuru (and realized that the site is pretty generic for everything in that class on the plane), and yes I even went on YouTube and looked at the 14 videos that past flyer's post inside the cabin (I felt a little like voyeur peering into these peoples adventure). And finally the decision was made...after all that research and all that study, it looked like Seat C22 was the best. How perfect - "C" for Charlie and 22 for my birthday. The Gods have spoken and that is my perfect seat. The only problem, someone else is already assigned to the seat. REALLY-PEOPLE-REALLY ???? Did the person in that seat do the same pain-staking research to determine that seat? So I realize my choices were now limited to a few other seats in that cabin. I chose 26H on the flight over and 26C on the flight back. Those decisions were made in matter of seconds.
So my question - do I really have too much time on my hand? Do I have a "control issue" problem? Is Hello Kitty really going to be flying the plane?...hmmm I think this was just a very random case of determining what was best for me and that's it. This will not happen again and this hard decision is over. WHEW....
Now I need to determine luggage...2 medium size bags or one big bag? Do I take a medium bag and buy one in Hong Kong?....do I ???.........Oh no... it has started all over again. Stay tuned for the final bag choice. Peace.
